Despite having a rookie quarterback and head coach, a shaky offensive line, a non-existent run game, and plenty of young players in the receiving corps, the Houston Texans’ offense was quite solid in 2023.
CJ Stroud had one of the most impressive rookie seasons in NFL history, looking like a superstar in the making and leading the team to a playoff win.
That’s why they decided to double down on him in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs.
With that in mind, young WR Nico Collins issued a big warning to the rest of the league, claiming that the Texans’ offense is going to be very dangerous in 2024 (via Around the NFL):
“Oh yeah, it’s going to be dangerous, real dangerous, man,” Collins said. “Adding Diggs to the room, it’s going to be a lot of weapons. There’s going to be great opportunities for everybody. It’s only adding more depth, more weapons to the offense, more weapons to the team. The sky is the limit for us. Can’t wait until the season is going to start.”

On top of Collins, Diggs, and Mixon, the Texans’ offense will also feature the likes of Dalton Schultz, Tank Dell, and John Metchie.
This team is far ahead of schedule, and they should be the frontrunners to take the AFC South Division pennant again in 2024.
The Texans may not be ready to go for the big prize just yet, but they’ve definitely maximized the assets they got in return for Deshaun Watson.
Props to GM Nick Caserio for the team he put together in almost no time.
The AFC will be a battle with so many talented teams, but the Texans should be right near the top of the list when we discuss dark horses and teams that could play spoiler as early as next season.
