NFL fans and pundits alike could be looking at a last dance for this Cowboys core in terms of it’s best, most experienced players.
The thought of changing up the roster a bit has to come into the mind of Jerry Jones if Dallas fails to make a deep playoff run this year.
That thought has already come into the mind of former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Plaxico Burress.
“If they do not get it done this year…this team is going to be dismantled,” Burress said recently on The Carton Show.

Jones and the Cowboys have been searching for a Super Bowl and deep playoff run since the mid-90s.
They have seemingly been contenders with three-time Pro-Bowler Dak Prescott at quarterback.
However, they are just 2-5 in the postseason with the former Mississippi State star under center.
With the team needing to make a decision on Prescott’s future over the next year, this is perhaps a do-or-die season for him.
With the talent that Dallas has on the roster and with Mike McCarthy as head coach, they should definitely be a playoff team this year.
But, it’s what happens in the postseason that will determine the future of both the head coach and quarterback.
If they lose early on, Jones might relieve them of their duties.
He might not stop at head coach and quarterback either.
Veterans Zack Martin, Brandin Cooks, DeMarcus Lawrence, Eric Kendricks, Ezekiel Elliot, etc. could all be released.
When a team knows they can’t win a Super Bowl with their veteran core, it is usually time to dismantle that core.
However, the likes of CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Trevon Diggs would be the cornerstone pieces of the future that would be kept on in this scenario most likely.
