The 2024 NFL Draft was a big deal for many teams across the league.
There was a historic number of quarterbacks taken in the first 12 picks, an indication of how many teams were in need of a new starter.
The Denver Broncos were a part of that historic run, taking Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick.
Nix was a highly touted player for the majority of his collegiate career, but there were some concerns about his potential as a pro.
The Broncos felt it was worth taking a chance on him, which is why his draft capital was so significant.
Despite the Broncos taking Nix early, there was some initial speculation that they would take their time with him, allowing a veteran like Zach Wilson or Jarrett Stidham to start the first few games of the season.
While this could still be the case, DraftKings’ latest odds might indicate otherwise.
As the 32BeatWriters account on Twitter highlighted, Nix is currently -425 to play the first Week 1 snap for the Broncos.

Betting odds don’t mean everything, but they have seemed to be at least an indication of what’s to come in future sporting events.
The Broncos have struggled to find consistency at the quarterback position for the past several seasons, and they’ve been unable to find playoff success as a result.
They might not necessarily want to roll out their rookie quarterback in Week 1, but if they want a shot at making it back to the playoffs, they could take some chances to shake things up.
