In a brutal loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had arguably the worst game of his season so far.
In the loss to the 49ers, Prescott only completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 153 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
These are not the numbers that Cowboys fans were hoping to see from their favorite team’s quarterback, especially when he’s one of the highest-paid signal-callers in the NFL this year.
Prescott’s recent struggles against San Francisco have caused some to wonder if he’s the right quarterback to lead Dallas to another Super Bowl win in the future.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones recently attempted to put to bed some of these thoughts during an appearance on a local Dallas radio show, via Jon Machota.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Dak Prescott: “He grasps this offense. He’s a part of the construction of this offense. He grasps it as well as anybody we’ve ever had play the position. … He’s got very, very, very top skills. He has great experience. He’s a winner.…

Whether Jones is losing confidence in Prescott as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback or not, he certainly hasn’t made it seem like he wants to move on from the veteran passer anytime soon.
This seems significant since Jones has never been someone to bite his tongue when it comes to what he thinks about the team that he owns.
After five games this season, Dallas is 3-2, but their three wins have come against a trio of teams with a combined record of 4-11.
Last Sunday against the 49ers was supposed to be a big test for Prescott and the Cowboys, and they failed miserably.
Dallas and their veteran quarterback will attempt to get things back on track when they travel to take on the Los Angeles Chargers for a Week 6 matchup on Monday night.
