The Detroit Lions inked their Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff to a four-year deal worth $212 million after a tremendous turnaround for him and the team.
Goff recently spoke with the Detroit media about what was most important to him within the contract.
“You can go back and forth on the numbers and whatnot, and that wasn’t really the thing that was ever something I was extremely concerned with. It was the security and the no-trade clause,” Goff stated, via Crunch Time with Jeff Iafrate & Booner.

Fans of the Lions should be extremely psyched about Goff being there for the foreseeable future.
He has helped turn the Lions into Super Bowl contenders because of his elite play and attitude.
The former California Golden Bear set career-highs in completions (407) and completion percentage (67.3%) this past season while helping the Lions win the NFC North.
This is a team that had never won the division until Goff arrived.
He guided Detroit to its first NFC Championship Game since 1991, which is the same year that they last won a playoff game.
The city was dying for a hero.
People thought the Los Angeles Rams won the trade a few years ago when they got Matthew Stafford because they won a Super Bowl with him.
Seeing what Goff and the Lions have done in Detroit, the trade appears to be fairly even right now.
After winning a total of 23 games over the last two seasons, including playoffs, the Lions are primed for another great season in 2024.
Look for them to be in the small group of teams that have legit Super Bowl aspirations.
