Joe Buck is as plugged into the NFL as one can be, although fans don’t often look to him for insight into front-office moves even though he probably has a better idea than most about what’s going on behind the scenes.
You don’t often hear predictions from him about the league itself, but he recently mentioned that it wouldn’t surprise him if one former quarterback decided to suit up again at some point.
A recent Daily Mail article featured some quotes from the legendary commentator, and he shared that he wouldn’t be surprised if 7-time Super Bowl champion and new FOX commentator Tom Brady decided to make a return to the gridiron, saying “Would I be floored if it happened or if he came back and somehow guided a team into a postseason? No.”
Brady has been in our lives for close to 25 years at this point, and there’s not much he could do that would surprise anybody at this point when it comes to football.
He seems like he could play until he’s 60, so for him to tear up a 10-year, $375 million deal from FOX to be a commentator to come back to the NFL might seem crazy, but it’s also something straight out of the Tom Brady playbook.
People will probably speculate that Brady could come back throughout the entirety of his FOX deal.
Brady looked incredible throughout most of his run with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and threw for 4,694 yards and 25 touchdowns in his most recent year in 2023, so it’s clear if he wanted to he could likely still get it done.
Never say never.
