The NFL season is just around the corner, at least that’s what it feels like.
The reason that should be the case is because OTAs (organized team activities) have begun for over 20 teams.
OTAs are essentially offseason practices, workouts, and in-person meetings that allow players and coaches to get acquainted with one another.

The 21 teams that have begun OTAs this week include the Cardinals, Ravens, Bills, Panthers, Bears, Packers, Texans, Jaguars, Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers, Rams, Dolphins, Vikings, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Eagles, 49ers, Seahawks, and Titans.
The Falcons and Commanders began OTAs last week, and teams such as the Browns, Cowboys, Broncos, Lions, Colts, Saints, Steelers and Bucs begin OTAs on May 21st.
The Bengals will be the last team to start OTAs on May 28th.
It will be very exciting to see which teams get up to speed with their process and what their goals will be for the new year.
Remember, no NFL team is exactly the same each season.
New players come in while free agents find new teams.
The coaching staff gets turned over while the front office sometimes loses important faces.
OTAs are the beginning for everybody, which is why it is an exciting time for so many around the league.
The free agent period and the NFL Draft are the first two big points of the each year.
Then, organized teams activities, along with voluntary workouts, are the two big official team activities that get each year started for players and coaches alike.
Again, the NFL season is right around the corner.
