One of the headlining matchups of the 2024 NFL season will be when the New York Jets travel out to San Francisco to face the 49ers in Week 1 on Monday Night Football.
That means 49ers No. 1 cornerback Charvarius Ward will likely be guarding star receiver Garrett Wilson for most of the evening.
Ward recently appeared on “Up & Adams” to chat about the potential matchup.
“I’m pretty sure I’m probably going to be following Garrett Wilson around. That’s his name, right?” Ward stated.

Ward also said that he hopes to intercept the legend in Aaron Rodgers and have him sign the ball after the game.
However, Ward might want to be careful with his words.
If he doesn’t know who Wilson is, he is going to have to learn fairly quickly.
The former Offensive Rookie of the Year has started off his career with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.
That has come without the likes of Rodgers throwing him the football for the majority of his time with the Jets.
He has played in each of the team’s 17 regular-season games in both of his seasons with Gang Green.
The former Ohio State Buckeye is arguably the team’s best offensive player that is not named Aaron Rodgers.
Now, Ward himself is a Super Bowl champion and coming off of his best career season.
The All-Pro led the league in pass deflections (23) and recorded a career-best 5 interceptions in 2023.
This is going to be a fantastic matchup to kick off the season.
There is no doubt about that.
