The Dallas Cowboys got their OTAs underway with a notable absence.
Micah Parsons, their most important defensive player, is reportedly not in attendance.
According to a report by Cowboys beat writer Clarance Hill Jr., there was hope that Parsons would show up after skipping the offseason program, just like he did last season.
Micah Parsons is not at Cowboys OTA practice today. CeeDee Lamb was never expected to show up until at least minicamp.

He adds that star WR CeeDee Lamb was never expected to show up because of his apparent contract dispute, but Parsons’ absence was somewhat surprising.
The Penn State product is about to enter his fourth season in the league, and he’s expected to fetch a very significant payday any time soon.
He entered the league as the No. 10 pick in 2021, and it didn’t take long before he made a name for himself as an elite pass rusher and disruptive defender.
He’s been a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year every season he’s been in the league, and he’s coming off posting a career-best 14.0 sacks.
The Cowboys picked up Parsons’ fifth-year option for the 2025 season, but he’s looking to get a new contract before the start of the season.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t usually march to anybody else’s beat, and he handles business his own way.
However, with his two best players demanding a new deal right away, the controversial business mogul might have no choice but to cave in and pay them their worth.
Also, this is the cheapest they’re ever going to be, so playing the waiting game makes no sense for the Cowboys — it never has.
