Bryce Harper’s Philadelphia Phillies are off to a dominant start to this season and are currently sporting the best record in baseball at 34-14 behind a scintillating mix of thunderous offense and stellar pitching.
Despite all this winning, Harper has still found time to make an impact off the field as well, as evidenced by a recent fan video that went viral.
MLB shared a clip on Twitter of Harper helping out a young Phillies fan named Jake Portella, who brought Harper along to his prom date’s house to help ask her to prom.

Thankfully, she said yes and was shocked when she opened the door and saw Harper standing there with Jake.
Fans are naturally eating this up and happy to see Bryce in such a heartwarming light.

Bryce is off to a dominant start at the plate this season with ten homers and 35 RBI already and has also adapted well to his first full season playing first base.
Portella said he originally just knocked on Harper’s door to ask for his wingman services and was planning on organizing the promposal with him, to which Harper suggested they should just do it right now.
He admitted he never expected Bryce to even answered the door and was planning on setting up the promposal via email if he did manage to get Bryce on board.
Portella’s prom is scheduled for June 14, which is the same date Harper and the Phillies begin a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.
