The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the best teams in the NFL over the past several seasons.
This team has been known for their defense in the past, but their offense has made significant strides lately.
Brock Purdy’s presence on this team has helped a lot, resulting in one of the best offenses in the league during his tenure.
He has had help to this point in his career, as many believe the 49ers’ duo between Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel is a top-five unit in the league.
There was talk of one or both of these players getting traded in the offseason, which hasn’t been the case to this point.
Purdy was recently asked about this situation in a conversation shared via 49ers on NBCS on Twitter.
“Obviously, you’re excited to get guys that you’re drafting, but at the same time, it’s like dang dude, we could have some kind of trade stuff happen,” Purdy said.

Purdy does seem to understand that the NFL is a business, but he also wants to keep his team together.
They have already made it to the Super Bowl as a collective unit in Purdy’s two-year tenure, a potential sign that they can do it again this year.
If Aiyuk and Samuel are both on the Week 1 roster, the 49ers should be in a good spot moving forward.
If not, they might have to rely more heavily on their other pass-catchers, who haven’t proven to be as effective as Samuel and Aiyuk to this point.
