Three years ago, not many NFL fans even knew who Brock Purdy was.
Now, he’s in line to get a significant payday, and he’s the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.
It’s crazy and funny how quickly things can change, especially for a professional athlete.
However, despite this crazy turnaround, Purdy continues to be the same kid from Queen Creek, Arizona.
When asked about his newfound celebrity status, a humbled Purdy admitted that he used to be that kid growing up asking football players for a picture, adding that he’s trying to give back to his fans and doesn’t want to be put on any kind of pedestal (via 95.7 The Game).

Purdy’s NFL upbringing is one for the ages.
Going from being the last pick of the NFL Draft to starting for one of the most popular and winningest franchises in the National Football League midway through your rookie season and then securing the starting spot is something worthy of a movie.
Purdy faced plenty of doubt and criticism in his first full season as a starter, yet he delivered when it mattered the most, having some solid performances in the playoffs and leading the team to the Super Bowl.
Some still believe he’s nothing but a system quarterback who’s benefiting from Kyle Shanahan’s offense and the Niners’ plethora of playmakers.
But at the end of the day, the only stat that matters is the number in the win column, and the Niners have done a lot of winning since Purdy took the reins of the offense.
