The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott are in a precarious situation.
Prescott himself is entering the final year of his contract and is right in the middle of his prime.
Former Pro Bowl quarterback and NFL analyst Robert Griffin III recently had this to say on his show about Prescott’s contract situation:
“Every single day that goes by, the Cowboys are just making the number for Dak Prescott go up,” Griffin said.
Every day the Dallas Cowboys wait, Dak Prescott’s price goes up. NFL locker rooms are a place unlike anywhere else in sports and how you treat the leaders of your team impacts EVERYONE. Dak has earned his money and backing him will go a long way towards winning when it matters.… https://t.co/d84OD52Bci pic.twitter.com/13dHv4mMZs

Prescott is coming off of his best career year as a pro.
The All-Pro signal-caller set career marks in completions (410) and touchdown passes (36).
He finished second in the MVP voting en route to helping Dallas win the NFC East for the second time in three years.
The reason why the Cowboys are struggling with giving him a new deal is because he hasn’t exactly come to play when the lights are at their brightest.
He is just 2-5 in the postseason and after being the No. 1 seed last year, the team choked to the Green Bay Packers at home in the NFC Wild Card round.
Prescott is a really, really good regular-season player.
But, is that worth handing him upwards of $50 million per year on a new contract.
Time will certainly tell to see if Jerry Jones feels comfortable about paying Prescott all that money.
This upcoming season could be his and head coach Mike McCarthy’s last season in Dallas if they fail to make a deep playoff run.
The pressure will no doubt be a lot heavier on No. 4.
