Roughly a quarter of the MLB season is already in the books.
By now, we have an idea about which teams and players are performing the best.
We have surprises, disappointments, sleepers, and busts all around.
With the help of former All-Star pitcher Dontrelle Willis, we can get an idea of which players have been the best at what they do to this point.
Willis, and the folks at FOX Sports: MLB, handed out some quarter season awards.
“We’ve got some Quarter Season Awards! @DTrainMLB shares his picks,” they tweeted, with a graphic containing the MVPs, Rookies of the Year (of the quarter, if you will), and the best managers, too.

Willis has New York Yankees skipper Aaron Boone as the best manager in the American League, and first-year manager Pat Murphy, the dugout leader of the Milwaukee Brewers, as the winner so far in the National League.
Boone and the Yanks have the best record in the AL at 33-17, while the Brew Crew leads the NL Central at 28-20.
The former star has Colton Cowser of the Baltimore Orioles and Shota Imanaga of the Chicago Cubs as the best rookies so far, and it’s hard to argue with him especially on the Imanaga selection.
Tarik Skubal and Ranger Suarez, two southpaws like Willis, were his choices for Cy Young, and Kyle Tucker (who leads MLB with 17 home runs) and Shohei Ohtani are his MVPs.
Overall, the picks are very solid considering performance, but there were a few surprises.
Former players usually have an eye for spotting true talent in MLB, and Willis is no exception.
