Recently, former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Austin Rivers made a comment that created quite a stir among NFL and NBA players, as he said that professional basketball players could make the transition to professional football much easier than the other way around.
Although Rivers had some players on both sides agree with him, it caused an uproar among professional athletes who took offense to the notion that they couldn’t hack it on the hardwood even though they could excel on the gridiron.
Most players in the NFL who have been able to play both sports or have transitioned from one sport to the other or vice versa have been players at the tight end position like Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham, Tony Gonzalez, Julius Thomas, and Martellus Bennett.
Apparently, superstar quarterback Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills thinks he’d be able to log some minutes in an NBA game, via NFL on ESPN.
“I think I can get some good minutes [in the NBA],” Allen said.

With Allen being the size of a tight end in the NFL at 6-foot-5 and about 240 pounds, there’s definitely a chance that he could do some damage on the basketball floor in the NBA.
Ironically enough, Allen was the leading scorer for Firebaugh High School when he was a couple of inches shorter and a lot lighter at 180 pounds, so there’s a chance some of those skills would give him a shot to log some minutes in an NBA game, but who knows if he could make an impact.
