Dak Prescott is hoping for a major contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.
After his best season as a pro, at least in terms of completions (410) and touchdown passes (36), he wants to remain a Cowboy for a long, long time.
Prescott recently spoke with the media about his contract situation and was quoted as saying that he doesn’t play for money.
Fox Sports’s Craig Carton was quick to jump all over that and more from what Prescott said.
“That makes me want to vomit…I like Dak Prescott. Seems like a good guy…If it’s not about the money, then sign for the minimum,” Carton recently stated on The Carton Show.

Every athlete is at least somewhat interested in the financial side of things.
There is no shame in that at all.
That is why Carton is somewhat right.
No player is ever not in it for the money, especially one that is demanding a new contract, especially one that has demanded a new contract multiple times over.
But again, the three-time Pro-Bowler just wants some security and a raise after what he did last year.
However, that right there is sort of the issue.
Prescott became an All-Pro and led the Cowboys to another 12-win season.
But, he failed in the playoffs once again (2-5 playoff record).
That is why Jerry Jones and Co. need to figure out how much he is truly worth.
Why pay a good regular season quarterback top-dollar money when he doesn’t play his best in the biggest moments?
