The Indianapolis Colts could only get a glimpse of their quarterback for the future in his rookie season.
Anthony Richardson was quite impressive in limited action, proving some of the doubters wrong with his ability to make an impact right out of the gate.
He broke tackles and made big plays as a scrambler, and showcased his athleticism and strong arm as well, and he looked like a perfect fit for Shane Steichen’s offensive system.
However, while his game was on point, he only raised more questions about his durability and future in the league, as he missed most of the campaign with two different ailments.
The 22-year-old suffered a concussion early last season that took him off the field for the next game and then suffered a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his shoulder that ended his season.
Nonetheless, he has no intention whatsoever of changing his game or taking a more conservative approach (via Around the NFL):
“I don’t think there’s any way I could have avoided what happened to me,” Richardson said. “Just a regular, routine tackle. I tried to brace myself for the fall and just my shoulder did what it did. There’s nothing I could do about that.”

It makes sense that Richardson doesn’t want to go away from what helped him be the No. 4 pick and one of the most exciting prospects in the NFL.
In four games, he threw for 577 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, adding 136 rushing yards and four additional scores.
Still, there are always concerns with dual-threat quarterbacks such as himself or Lamar Jackson, and while his aggressiveness makes him a good player, he’s going to have to learn how to shy away from contact and keep his body out of harm’s way.
