The Philadelphia Phillies are 36-14 before taking the field on Thursday.
They are working on a five-game winning streak and have taken eight of their last 10.
They also have MLB’s best run differential at +90.
From any and every angle you look at it, they have been downright dominant.
However, MLB insider Jon Heyman is warning people about a specific situation; a caveat, if you will.
“Philly is great, and they are playing great, but due to a schedule quirk they’ve played only 3 games against teams that have a winning record now — their first 3 games of the year!” Heyman tweeted.

Heyman is not disrespecting the Phils: just pointing out at a fact.
The Phillies are an amazing team, probably even a better version of the one that wowed the league in 2022 and 2023 with deep playoff pushes.
However, it’s also true that they have taken advantage of teams like the Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, and the Pittsburgh Pirates, just to name a few.
They will likely remain a force to be reckoned with, but the schedule will inevitably get tougher for them.
It happens to every team: in any given season, they will go through stretches in which they have mostly weak squads, then things get a bit harder.
Some face an incredibly tough calendar in the first few weeks, then get a small break.
In the end, luck will likely even out for most organizations in such a long season.
Don’t underestimate the Phillies, though: they are the real deal, and are prepared to show that to the world even against tough opposition.
