The Denver Broncos made the move to draft Oregon quarterback Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
In fact, they have made multiple decisions this offseason in the quarterback room.
Former quarterback Russell Wilson was released earlier this offseason after a frustrating two seasons with the team.
Former Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was traded from New York to Denver.
The selection of Nix was the latest move.
Head coach Sean Payton has recently provided an update at OTAs on Nix’s development.
“He’s farther along than most would be…He’s extremely smart…He’s picked it up very quickly,” Payton told the Denver media.

Payton has coached an experienced college quarterback before.
He coached one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history in Drew Brees with the Saints after Brees came over from San Diego.
Brees played in 45 games at Purdue.
They would go on to win a Super Bowl together.
Nix himself started 61 career games across his time at both Auburn and Oregon.
The former Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, as Payton said, is off to a good start in the system.
It remains to be seen if Nix will start in the regular season right away.
Payton could go with one of the more experienced quarterbacks on the roster in Jarrett Stidham or Zach Wilson early on in the year.
Then, he could transition to Nix midway through the season.
But one thing is for sure.
Nix is the quarterback of the future and an already-experienced quarterback of the future at that.
