The Atlanta Falcons have been building up their roster in the seasons following Matt Ryan’s departure.
Ryan was well-liked within the organization, and he provided a level of stability at the quarterback position that many teams strive for.
The Falcons haven’t quite gotten to that place with any of the quarterbacks that have tried to fill Ryan’s shoes, but their struggles could be coming to an end.
Kirk Cousins left the Minnesota Vikings in the offseason to join them, hoping he could be the missing piece this team has been searching for.
While it’s early on in the offseason, it appears that things are going well thus far.
According to Cameron Wolfe, people within the organization have told him that Cousins’ presence is making a “night and day” difference in the building.
Falcons coaches & players tell me new QB1 Kirk Cousins is making “night & day” impact as leader & commanding offense.

This is critical for the Falcons’ growth moving forward, especially considering the fact that they’ve invested significant first-round draft capital into their offense over the past several seasons.
They took Kyle Pitts in the first round of the 2021 draft, Drake London in 2022, and Bijan Robinson in 2023.
All three of these athletes have the potential to have special careers in the NFL, but to this point, they haven’t found the right quarterback to help support them.
It will be interesting to see what the Falcons look like next season with Cousins at the helm.
Early implications seem positive, and after watching him elevate Justin Jefferson on the Vikings, this should bode well for Falcons pass-catchers and skill-position players.
