Two years ago, wide receiver Hunter Renfrow was in the middle of a 2021 season with the Las Vegas Raiders in which he was voted to his first Pro Bowl roster after catching 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns.
But since that season, Renfrow has only managed to accumulate 42 catches for 389 yards and two trips to the end zone in 15 games.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to most when The Athletic’s Dianna Russini revealed on Saturday that the Raiders are reportedly attempting to deal Renfrow to another team before this year’s trade deadline on October 31 (via Dov Kleiman).
REPORT: #Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow is being shopped by the team. They are “Trying to trade the receiver”, a source tells @DMRussini
Renfrow only has 6 catches for 59 yards all year.
Renfrow has played only 42% of the snaps this season, a career low.

Renfrow’s dropoff in production since the start of the 2022 season has certainly been puzzling, especially since the Raiders signed him to a two-year extension worth $32 million during the 2022 offseason.
During his first three years with Las Vegas, he averaged almost 70 catches, 766 receiving yards, and five touchdowns per season.
But then the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels to be their new head coach in the 2022 offseason, and ever since then, Renfrow’s role in the team’s offense has essentially vanished.
Releasing him won’t do much for Las Vegas since it would only clear up $370,000 in cap space.
However, if the Raiders are able to trade him before the deadline in a few weeks, they will clear almost $7 million in cap space.
For a team in need of a reliable possession receiver this season, trading for Renfrow should be something to at least consider.
Whether he ends up getting dealt before this year’s trade deadline or not, it appears that Renfrow’s time with Las Vegas is likely going to come to an end sooner than later.
