The New York Giants have been struggling since the height of the Eli Manning days.
They have made the playoffs just once in seven seasons and haven’t won the NFC East since 2011.
Their starting quarterback in Daniel Jones, who is struggling to begin with, is coming off of a torn ACL that he suffered in the middle of the year in 2023.
The team signed veteran Drew Lock earlier this offseason to possibly compete for the starting job.
It’s a weird situation, and one that FOX Sports’ Jason McIntyre doesn’t love.
“The Giants are desperate, and what’s shaping up in New York is a really dangerous season for Daniel Jones,” McIntyre stated, per “The Herd.”

He might be right.
It’s never good when a mediocre quarterback is coming off of major injury to re-join a team that is also mediocre.
This isn’t a Super Bowl-contending team at all.
They just lost their best all-around player in Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley, who joined the arch-rival Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent.
Multiple veteran wide receivers have left to join better teams over the last couple of offseasons.
This team hasn’t had 10+ wins in a season since 2016.
Even the rebuilding Washington Commanders, who were run extremely poorly for a long, long time, are set up for better success than the Giants right now.
Jones has had just one career season with a QBR over 88 and isn’t completely healthy.
Lock is a career backup quarterback.
Things likely won’t go well this season for Big Blue.
Who knows when they’ll get better?
