The Cincinnati Bengals will be a Super Bowl contender for as long as Joe Burrow is out there.
Even without him, they still managed to win some games and stay competitive, but they go from being a ‘good’ team to a great one when their star QB is on the field.
That’s why it’s great news to hear that he’s practicing normally and with no limitations during OTAs.
According to new Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher, there hasn’t been a ‘pitch count’ or limitation for Burrow in practice (via Around the NFL):
“We designed the whole thing to stay within the constraints of where the medical people think he should be and where he wants to be right now,” Pitcher said. “Nobody is sitting there with a special pitch counter. But we’ve been smart how we put it together.”

The former No. 1 pick struggled with injuries last season.
A calf injury put his availability at risk, and some people urged him to sit and get some rest before getting back on the field, as he was actually hurting his team.
Then, he bounced back and went back to being one of the best quarterbacks in the game, but that stint was short-lived, as he suffered a season-ending wrist injury.
Burrow is a special kind of quarterback, and he’s shown that he can be 1B to Patrick Mahomes’ 1A when he’s at his best, but there have been some recent concerns about his durability.
The Bengals must do whatever they can to make sure their star quarterback stays on the field.
When healthy, they might be the biggest threat to the Kansas City Chiefs in their pursuit of a three-peat, and having an angry Joe Burrow on a revenge tour might be just what this league needs in 2024.
