Both the NBA and the sports world as a whole recently lost a true legend.
Basketball Hall-of-Famer Bill Walton has passed away at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer.
Legends and stars from every corner of the sports world have sent their prayers and sentiments out in honor of Walton.
One of those stars is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

It is always special when one legend from another sport recognizes the life and the greatness of what another legend brought to his or her own sport.
The NBA truly lost a real legend.
Walton was one of the best big men in the league in the 1970s and 1980s.
He won the league MVP in 1978 while with the Portland Trail Blazers and two NBA titles (1977, 1986).
Not many players, in any sport, accomplish everything at both the college and professional level.
He won multiple championships in both college and the NBA.
The legend has his jersey retired at both UCLA and with the Trail Blazers.
He was also a two-time All-Star (1977, 1978) and the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 1986.
Both the NBA’s 50th Anniversary Team and 75th Anniversary Team have Walton’s name on them.
Walton became a commentator in the early 1990s after his playing days were over and has been a beloved figure ever since his playing days.
Seeing Mahomes, as well as many others, send their thoughts and prayers is a truly great thing.
