The New York Jets may have made the steal of the NFL Draft when they drafted Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis in the fifth round.
The reigning ACC Player of the Year will sit and learn behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor for the next few years before he possibly becomes the next starter in New York.
A former teammate of his at Florida State in edge-rusher Jermaine Johnson recently spoke with the New York media about Travis’ skills.
“The plays he makes with his legs as well as his arm, it’s just amazing,” the Pro Bowl defender stated (via Jets Videos).

Johnson and Travis were teammates at Florida State in 2021 and have been close ever since.
Now, they get to be teammates in New York.
Johnson also talked about how Travis will get to sit and learn behind Taylor and Rodgers in the quarterback room.
There isn’t a better situation for a rookie quarterback to walk into than that one.
There is absolutely zero pressure on Travis because he doesn’t need to step in for another few years.
All he has to do is sit quietly and slowly grow behind the scenes.
Looking at what Jordan Love is doing in Green Bay right now after sitting behind Rodgers, Jets fans should be excited about the future of Travis if and when he gets to take over as starter.
For now, fans can enjoy watching Rodgers guide this team to the promised land now that he is back healthy.
