The Cincinnati Bengals have been trying to make it work with star wide receiver Tee Higgins all offseason.
The team has been trying to find the right contract extension for the multi-time 1,000-yard wide receiver, who is currently not at OTAs as he awaits that new deal.
While on the I Am Athlete Pod, Higgins recently said that he would like to come back to the Bengals.
“As far as coming back, I would love to come back. I grew as a man in the past four years here…So I would definitely love to be here,” the former Clemson star stated.
He also went on to mention that if he can’t work out a deal with the team, then that’s not a possibility.
“If that’s not the situation, then that’s not the situation,” he said.
This is one of the better, younger wide receivers in the game.
He has provided Joe Burrow with another great option opposite of All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who also happens to be missing OTAs in search of a massive contract.
Higgins is the Scottie Pippen to Chase’s Michael Jordan.
Before dealing with injuries last season, Higgins was coming off of back-to-back 74-catch seasons that guided him to back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons too.
Without Higgins in the picture, it is hard to say that the Bengals are one of the best teams in the AFC.
They already lost veteran receiver Tyler Boyd, as well as former Pro Bowl back Joe Mixon, earlier this offseason.
They cannot afford to lose Higgins.
