Every single year, teams eligible to be on HBO’s Hard Knocks seem to do everything within their power not to be featured on the popular show, as it can be a distraction for the players and the coaching staff when they are trying to get ready for the upcoming NFL season.
That said, more often than not, teams will avoid being the team that ultimately gets selected by the league to do the show, but every year, the NFL seems to pick the most intriguing and potentially entertaining team to be featured.
Last season, the New York Jets were on the show, with the team acquiring superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers, and the result was one of the better Hard Knocks in recent memory.
This year, the league and NFL Films have chosen to go with the Chicago Bears, who recently drafted quarterback Caleb Williams out of the University of Southern California with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Picking the new-look Bears to be on the show this year was an absolute no-brainer, with the team bringing in a potential superstar at quarterback along with the addition of rookie wide Rome Odunze and the recent trade to acquire veteran wideout Keenan Allen.
Chicago has put together a talented roster with a potentially bright future ahead, as the storied franchise has yet to have a player of Williams’ caliber at quarterback, which makes things that much more interesting moving forward.
