The Detroit Lions had a sensational 2023 season that saw them win the NFC North and reach the NFC Championship Game, and it was the first time in some 30 years they had a team that was very good and competitive.
Their coaching staff, led by Dan Campbell, has gotten lots of praise for taking a team that finished 3-13-1 in 2021 and turning it into a Super Bowl contender in such a short amount of time.
There have been a number of teams that have been looking to hire Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their head coach, but he says he’s not interested in those offers because he loves his current role and situation, per Around The NFL.

Johnson has now been the Lions’ offensive coordinator for two seasons, and in both those seasons, the team has finished in the top-five in points and total yards.
He has had a hand in helping Amon-Ra St. Brown develop into one of the NFL’s better wide receivers while getting plenty of production out of tight end Sam LaPorta and running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
With defensive linemen D.J. Reader and Marcus Davenport joining a defense that needed improvement, perhaps the Lions will roar even louder this coming season.
In order to do so, they will need to hold off a number of teams in the NFC that look improved, including the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and possibly the Minnesota Vikings.
But a new day has begun for the long-suffering franchise, and it looks like Johnson wants to make the most of it rather than bolt to take a head coaching job elsewhere.
