Cam Newton was one of the more electrifying quarterbacks of his generation.
He turned out to be one of the best dual-threat signal callers in NFL history.
While on his 4th and 1 podcast, he recently made a bold claim about his athleticism.
“Growing up, athleticism was both a gift and a curse. I was a football player who played quarterback,” Newton stated.
He would also go on to mention that he could’ve played any position in football or any sport.

The former Heisman winner was one of the most gifted athletes in NFL history.
As an NFL quarterback, you are going to have arm talent.
But standing at 6-5 and weighing close to 250 pounds, Newton also had the 4.5 speed to blow by defenders.
The former MVP holds the NFL record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history with 75.
He put together six seasons with at least 3,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards.
It is fair to say that he was arguably the biggest reason why Carolina returned to prominence during his first stint with the team (2011-2019).
Now, he also talked about how his athleticism was a curse.
He had to fight through many injuries throughout his career, which is why he played in just 25 games over his final three NFL seasons.
Players like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Peyton Manning were and have been able to play for so long because they stayed healthy and weren’t as physical.
But still, Newton was a true legend because of the mind-boggling plays that he made through the air and on the ground.
