The Minnesota Vikings made the massive move to sign All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a four-year $140 million extension.
$110 million will be guaranteed in the deal.
It is the largest non-quarterback deal in the history of the National Football League.
While most are looking at this from a positive perspective, Fox Sports’s Craig Carton had a different take on Minnesota making the deal.
“He traded an opportunity to win for a boatload of cash,” Carton recently stated on The Carton Show.

The Vikings made the right call to pay the superstar.
Jefferson holds the NFL record for most receiving yards in a player’s first four NFL seasons (5,899).
He has recorded 1,000+ yards each year, including last year when only started 9 games due to injury.
So, the deal to extend him makes total sense.
But in the grand scheme of things, Jefferson, who deserves every bit of that deal, isn’t on the best team.
Yes, the offense has a couple of nice players in former Pro Bowl back Aaron Jones, ascending receiver Jordan Addison, and Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson.
But, the defense is suspect and the division is loaded.
With Jared Goff and Jordan Love reigning over the NFC North and with Caleb Williams entering the Windy City, will Jefferson’s quarterback in J.J. McCarthy be able to match those guys?
Jefferson is great, but he is going to need the ball.
Even if this team found a way to be competitive and formidable in the NFC North, they might have an uphill battle when it comes to Super Bowl contention.
