At one point in time during the 2023 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys looked like arguably the best team in the league, with the squad firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football with Dak Prescott playing at an MVP level and leading a high-powered offense while Micah Parsons led the charge on defense.
Despite clinching the second seed in the NFC and seemingly having a decent chance to win it all last season, it was all for nothing with the team flaming out in the first round of the NFL playoffs, with the Green Bay Packers coming to town and putting the Cowboys in their place on their home field of AT&T Stadium.
In the aftermath of one of the most disappointing playoff losses in team history, Dallas is trying to put the pieces back together again, but the team’s superstars want to be paid and appreciated for their efforts.
Prescott, Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb are all in line to get massive contract extensions, but no deals have come to fruition, with the team’s superstar linebacker not showing up to OTAs, forcing the superstar quarterback to answer questions about the absence of the leader on defense, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“At the end of the day, these guys are professionals,” Prescott said. “This is optional. I’m here, right. I would love for Micah to be here. Trust me, he’s heard me say that. But this is optional. I know he’s getting better, I know he’s working on his body, so I don’t have any angst or concerns there. He’s gonna be the best player that he needs to be, and he’ll get himself that way in the training, and he’ll get the knowledge he needs from (Mike Zimmer) and the guys.”
Dak Prescott when asked about Micah Parsons not attending OTAs: “At the end of the day, these guys are professionals. This is optional. I’m here, right. I would love for Micah to be here. Trust me, he’s heard me say that. But this is optional. I know he’s getting better, I know… pic.twitter.com/OpYAUEYcbh

At this point, it seems inevitable that all three superstars in Dallas will get paid and potentially reset the markets for their positions, but it remains to be seen when that will happen.
This could become a major distraction if one or all three of them are absent when their presence is mandatory.
