Diehard and old-school NFL fans don’t seem to agree with those who believe that this is the best era in National Football League history.
The rules favor offense way too much, defensive players can barely do their jobs, and they believe that the game has gotten softer and watered down.
Whether that’s true or not is not for us to debate.
What is a fact, however, is that we have never had as many elite talents at the quarterback position all playing at the same time.
Numbers aside, as they could be a byproduct of the way the game is played, quarterbacks are simply better, more athletic, and more polished than they used to be, and the surge of the dual-threat quarterback has also been a factor.
That’s why it’s not so easy to put together a ranking or a list of the best in the game.
However, that has never stopped Nick Wright, who has made a living out of firing off blazing hot takes on television and social media.
He did that again by sharing his controversial list of the five best quarterbacks in today’s game (via Dov Kleiman).
Nick Wright’s Top 5 #NFL QBs:
1) #Chiefs Patrick Mahomes
2) #Bills Josh Allen
3) #Bengals Joe Burrow
4) #Texans C.J. Stroud
5) #Bears Caleb WilliamsThoughts?

Wright stirred the pot right off the bat by taking Chicago Bears rookie Caleb Williams at No. 5, followed by C.J. Stroud, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes.
Williams clearly has the potential to be that good right away.
However, he hasn’t even played a regular season game yet.
The expectations are sky-high in Chicago, as they should.
But maybe we should put the brakes on a first-year player until we get to see him play.
