The Dallas Cowboys played the waiting game with WR CeeDee Lamb, and it might come back to haunt them.
With Justin Jefferson resetting the wide receiver market with his new deal with the Minnesota Vikings, Lamb and his camp now have a baseline to work with to get him a new contract.
Lamb was the second-best wide receiver in the game last season behind only Tyreek Hill, and he’s proven that he can be a WR1 and handle plenty of volume in the passing game, making an impact regardless of the coverage he faces.
That’s why NFL analyst Louis Riddick believes he’s about to get paid big bucks.
Talking on ESPN, Riddick predicted that Lamb could be looking at around $35 million per year, and he might be right.

Lamb has let it be known that he’s not exactly thrilled with his contract situation in Arlington, and it hasn’t been exactly shocking to watch him skip OTAs.
This has been standard procedure for the Cowboys, and they usually end up paying more than they would’ve paid in the beginning.
The Cowboys didn’t give Dak Prescott much to work with in the offseason, and they even lost their starting running back.
They cannot afford to be on bad terms with their best offensive player, even if he’s not going anywhere.
That’s why Lamb is most likely next in line to cash in on a life-changing deal, with Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase watching and licking his chops from afar.
