The San Francisco Giants are looking to replace manager Gabe Kapler.
Kapler was in San Francisco for four seasons, leading them to an over .500 record once.
The Giants won 107 games in 2021 but lost in the NLDS to the Los Angeles Dodgers that year.
Kapler did the best he could with the roster he was given, but the Giants did not have the talent of other teams.
Either way, the Giants front office felt it was time to move on from Kapler.
Many people will follow closely as to who they hire as their new manager.
It appears the Giants have already made significant history just by interviewing one candidate.
According to Front Office Sports, the Giants have interviewed Alyssa Nakken for their manager job.
She is believed to be the first woman to become an official candidate for a manager position in MLB history.

Nakken has worked as a major league assistant coach over the past four seasons with the Giants.
She has experience working with major league players and has developed a ton of respect around the Giants locker room.
It will be interesting to see if she ends up getting the job.
This would be significant news in baseball history and something that is bound to happen at some point.
We already had the first female GM in Kim Ng with the Miami Marlins.
Even though she recently stepped down from that position she still opened the door for other women.
There is no guarantee the Giants will end up hiring Nakken, but it is cool to see she is under consideration.
