The New York Giants aren’t what one would consider a powerhouse right now, and it might take a while before that changes.
While their defense got better in the offseason, and they added a potential elite talent at wide receiver, they also lost their best offensive player when they let Saquon Barkley go.
On top of that, there are serious concerns about Daniel Jones and whether he can lead this team forward.
Nonetheless, that’s not how second-year WR Jalin Hyatt feels right now.
Addressing the media, the former Tennessee Volunteer didn’t hesitate to declare that the Giants “have a playoff team” (via Art Stapleton).

Hyatt was a third-round pick last season and didn’t make much of an impact in his rookie year, hauling in 23 receptions for 373 yards.
However, a lot of that had to do with the Giants’ multiple injuries at the quarterback position and subpar offense.
Now, he thinks things will be much better in his sophomore campaign.
That could be seen as a bit of a hot take, considering the fact that they will have to square off against the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys twice a year next season.
Even so, the Giants did make the playoffs and even won a game on the road just before Hyatt made it to the league.
Led by their defense, and if Jones manages to limit his mistakes, there’s still a slim chance that this team will be able to fulfill his promise and reach the postseason.
