The Seattle Seahawks quarterback room behind starter Geno Smith is going to look much different this season after letting Drew Lock sign with the New York Giants in free agency and filling the backup slot by trading for Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell, who started all 17 games for the team last season and threw 21 touchdowns and 21 interceptions
The team reportedly isn’t done adding to the room, as one insider has shared an update on another journeyman QB, P.J. Walker.
Seahawks beat reporter Corbin K. Smith reported that the team and Walker have agreed to terms on a contract, but he has to pass a physical before officially signing.
My understanding is that #Seahawks and PJ Walker have agreed to terms, but he has to pass physical before officially signing.
Expectation would be that he’s on field for minicamp next week if all goes as planned.

Smith added that if all goes as planned, Walker would be on the field for minicamp next week.
Walker appeared in six games for the Cleveland Browns last season and threw one touchdown and five interceptions while only completing 48.6 percent of his passes.
The 29-year-old has six touchdowns and 16 interceptions so far in his career and a 54.6 percent completion percentage.
This is simply a depth move for Seattle, as Walker has been around long enough to know how to bring plenty of value to a QB room, and alongside Smith and Howell, this is now a deep and talented room that is more than capable of filling in should Smith happen to go down with an injury.
Walker is 5-4 in his career as a starter since leading the XFL in passing yards after being cut by the Indianapolis Colts, a feat which led to him being signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2020, where he spent the first three years of his NFL career on an active roster.
