The New England Patriots have a new franchise player.
He might not be ready yet, but he’s putting in a lot of work to be ready as soon as possible.
Notably, it seems like Drake Maye has made a great impression early in his NFL career.
According to a report by NFL insider Mike Reiss, Maye shocked veteran WR K.J. Osborn with his film study and communication (Via Savage Sports).
Apparently, Osborn was in awe of the fact that Maye reached out to him to give him a couple of pointers about a practice repetition with Jacoby Brissett and how he could alter his route based on the coverage, as he wasn’t even the quarterback on the play but he was still locked in and watching film.

Osborn claimed that you could tell that Maye was studying the game.
That’s what you want from your rookie quarterback, and that’s the kind of leadership and work ethic that often set players apart.
Maye has all the physical tools to be one of the best quarterbacks in the game, with some thinking he could be a better version of Josh Allen.
He still has plenty of work to do in terms of footwork and mechanics, and some think he might not even see the field in his rookie season.
Still, with this kind of work ethic, there’s still a slim chance that he’ll be ahead of schedule and prove to HC Jerod Mayo and his coaching staff that he can be trusted to go out there.
