The Green Bay Packers already had an elite running back, but even good things can get better.
That’s why they didn’t hesitate to pull the plug on Aaron Jones to make room for Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs has been one of the most underrated running backs in the game for quite a while now, and while he had repeatedly made it loud and clear that he wanted to be a Las Vegas Raider for life, it’s clear that the franchise didn’t feel the same way about him.
Both parties were unable to strike a long-term deal, but as expected, Jacobs didn’t need much time to find a new home.
When asked about his decision to join the Packers of all teams, he argued that he thought they had a pretty good roster, lauding Jordan Love as well.
Talking on the “Green Light with Chris Long” podcast, Jacobs claimed that he thought that Love was next in line in terms of young quarterbacks.

Love was an MVP-caliber player late in the season and silenced the doubters in his first season as the starter.
He clearly learned a trick or two from Aaron Rodgers.
And while Jones was great last season, he was also out with injuries for quite a while, and that had become a concern going forward.
Now, Love will be able to rely on one of the most durable and dependable backs in the game, a true every-down back with a huge chip on his shoulder who’ll look to show the Raiders what they are missing on every snap.
