With the New England Patriots holding their first minicamp workouts Monday morning, all eyes were on the possible appearance of edge-rusher Matthew Judon.
After all, the star defender missed multiple organized team functions in recent weeks and was considered questionable for Monday’s session.
For the Patriots and new head coach Jerod Mayo, it is obviously essential to have full participation and show that everyone is working toward building the team back to NFL prominence.
Now, there is good news for Patriots Nation to start the week.
Taylor Kyles reported that Judon appeared this morning at the New England minicamp.

This is the second straight offseason during which Judon was unhappy about his contract situation.
The team addressed the impasse last year by moving some of his earnings from the 2024 season to 2023, but that only kicked the can down the road and set up more uneasiness heading into this summer.
Judon’s season was interrupted in Week 4 last year when he suffered a torn biceps against the Dallas Cowboys, ending his streak of four straight Pro Bowl selections.
Coach Mayo dampened speculation that there would be a holdout this year by declaring that everyone who should have been at minicamp was there.
For all of New England’s struggles last year, the defense held its own even as the offense never developed consistency.
That defense could use a full campaign from Judon in 2024, who has registered 32 sacks over the last three seasons.
His Monday appearance bodes well for Mayo and his team, who want to put 2023 behind them quickly.
