Cleveland Browns fans know that their team went all-in with its record-breaking contract with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
But they also know that injury ended his 2023 season early, and there are no guarantees in the NFL.
With this in mind, the fanbase must be ecstatic that the team reached out and signed veteran Jameis Winston to a one-year deal in March.
After all, he is just one play away from being the team’s starter, and this team reached the AFC playoffs in 2023 despite going through five starting quarterbacks to get there.
The Browns posted a video on social media showing Winston giving a rousing shoutout to the legendary Dawg Pound while carrying an electric guitar.

Winston is a more than capable NFL quarterback who may be the best insurance policy pickup by any team this offseason.
He put up impressive numbers in Tampa after being selected first overall in the 2015 draft.
His primary issue was turnovers, one that he could not overcome as he played out his rookie contract with the Buccaneers.
But he earned a Pro Bowl selection and led the NFL in passing yards in 2019, though he also set the league-high in interceptions.
Winston moved on to New Orleans, where he played four uneven and injury-marred seasons.
After playing in only seven games with the Saints in 2023, he signed with Cleveland, hoping to put his career back on an upward trajectory.
Watson is unquestionably the starter, but the enthusiastic and hopefully healthy Winston may see playing time sooner rather than later.
