The New England Patriots will need as much help as they can get on the offensive side of the football.
Jacoby Brissett will most likely take the reins of the offense while Drake Maye sits back and learns, and they don’t have that many playmakers at wide receiver.
That’s why Rhamondre Stevenson will be so crucial to their success in 2024, and HC Jerod Mayo is fully aware of that.
He recently gushed about his player, telling the media that he’s definitely one of the best running backs in the game (Via The Coachspeak Index).
#Patriots HC Jerod Mayo on Rhamondre Stevenson:
“I think he’s one of the better backs in the league. It’s no doubt about it. I think over the last couple of years it’s been kind of tough on him, as far as just getting started, so I’m excited to see what he does this season.” pic.twitter.com/XmH92DCf29

He also acknowledged that he’s had a tough time getting started, but he’s very excited about what he’ll be able to do next season.
The Patriots need to establish the run and find some offensive balance to get at least slightly better than they were last season, and that’s where Stevenson could come in handy.
Stevenson has proven to be a factor both out of the backfield and as a pass-catcher, but injuries and the Patriots’ poor offensive execution in the final years of the Bill Belichick era often stood in the way.
Should he be able to stay on the field, he could be in line for a heavy workload in 2024.
The Patriots most likely won’t compete for a postseason berth in one of the toughest divisions in all of football, but this season will be key to building and developing winning habits again within an organization that was used to dominating the league at will.
