Aaron Rodgers has been quite supportive of his New York Jets teammates from the very second he arrived in the Big Apple.
He attended voluntary workouts, hung out with the guys, and was present there even when he was unable to play because of his injury.
That’s why it was a bit of a surprise to see him skip mandatory minicamp this week, especially after already being there for OTAs.
Robert Saleh recently revealed that the team was aware of the fact that Rodgers was going to be gone at this time.
He claimed that as much as the absence was unexcused, Rodgers was going to attend an event that was very important for him, not adding more details.
The media asked him about that again on Wednesday, and Saleh’s response was a little more direct (via Jets Videos).
“Aaron and I are on the exact same page. There’s no issue between Aaron or his teammates, for that matter. We addressed it yesterday. It’s more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside.”

The coach claimed that he and Rodgers were on the exact same page and in constant communication and that his absence was more of an issue for people outside of the building than those inside of it.
Rodgers’ absence from mandatory minicamp is a finable offense.
Needless to say, that’s pocket change for a player like Rodgers, and the Jets might also choose not to fine him because of this — which is the likeliest scenario.
