The quarterback is the glamor role in the NFL, of that there is no question, but it is getting considerable competition for that title from another position that also begs for the spotlight.
The receiver.
These are superior athletes who seemingly crave the attention that comes with being a superstar, and mercurial personalities occupy this position all across the league.
Now Netflix is adding to the success of its previous special presentation, “Quarterback,” with the new “Receiver,” which intends to pull back the curtain on this most volatile cast of characters.
Netflix announced on Thursday that the new series will debut on the streaming service on July 10.

Along with the long-awaited announcement of the drop date came an exciting trailer featuring a host of NFL household names.
They included Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Las Vegas’ Davante Adams, San Francisco’s George Kittle and Deebo Samuel, and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions.
The release accompanying the trailer noted that while the quarterback is acknowledged as the most difficult NFL position, throwing the pass is only half the equation.
“Receiver” follows the paths of these five superstars through the 2023 season and offers what should be a fascinating insight into their positions and personal lives.
As the season inches ever closer, it should whet the appetites of NFL fans who miss the action and excitement of actual games and cannot wait to cheer on their favorite teams.
