The Baltimore Ravens did some real work in the running back room this offseason.
With both Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins leaving John Harbaugh and the Ravens for Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers, the team needed to add some help.
Of course, their signing of Titans legend Derrick Henry should help a lot.
But one quiet move that they made was the selection of Marshall’s Rasheen Ali in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft.
While on the Ross Tucker Podcast, analyst Emory Hunt recently gave his take on what Ali can bring to Baltimore.
“A+ explosion, reminds me so much of Raheem Mostert…If the lane is there and he hits it, it’s a wrap,” Hunt stated recently.

Now, Ali will be farther down on the depth chart behind not just Henry, but also behind Keaton Mitchell and Justice Hill.
But that just means he will have more time to get acclimated to the NFL game.
He was a stud while at Marshall.
He recorded over 1,100 yards twice in four years and when he was healthy, he was a touchdown machine (42 touchdowns as the team’s starter).
His 4.4 speed allows him to absolutely blow by defenders once he hits the hole, which is why Hunt compared him to the Pro-Bowler in Mostert.
If Ali gets an opportunity to show off that track speed in any kind of role, the opposing team better look out.
Who knows how much playing time that he will get to start his career, but the potential for him to be a dangerous player is all there.
