The New York Jets had an obvious issue at the quarterback position.
That’s why they went all-in to get Aaron Rodgers to rescue them after last season’s revolving door at QB.
But with his injury, they had no choice but to turn back to Zach Wilson, the very same guy they had booed off the field last year.
That’s why HC Robert Saleh wanted to give the BYU product his flowers for his in-season improvement and how he’s finally putting his team in a better position to win (via The Carton Show).
“Zach Wilson’s earned it. He’s a professional quarterback, the ball is rarely on the ground. He’s earning the right and the trust of his teammates and coaches.”

Wilson has been far from stellar, but he has shown great signs of improvement over the past month or so.
He looks more comfortable rolling out of the pocket and is taking some deep shots he wouldn’t have even attempted last season.
Saleh praised him for being a professional quarterback and improving every week to earn the right to start for them and get the trust of his teammates back.
Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s lighting it up or putting up big numbers, and the Jets still need to score more touchdowns.
But Wilson is at least taking better care of the football and helping the offense march up and down the field, which is way more than what he did last season.
Rodgers is trying to come back this year, and if Wilson is able to hold down the fort and win an extra couple of games for them, they will go back to being a Super Bowl contender as soon as they get him back.
