The Dallas Cowboys have had some very solid quarterback play over the years.
But that is just it.
Very solid quarterback play and nothing more.
Going back to Tony Romo’s days in Dallas, the Cowboys were guided by a good signal-caller who generally always kept the team in games.
That is the same way with current Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
He, like Romo, has made Pro Bowls and has won a lot of games.
Dallas sports writer Tim Cowlishaw recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to chat about how similar the careers of Romo and Prescott have been.
“He’s (Dak) reached the point where his career is oddly not that different than Tony Romo’s,” Cowlishaw stated.

Both players were not thought of as highly as other big prospects in the draft.
Romo went undrafted and Prescott was a fourth-round pick.
Both players have been able to win over 60% of the games that they have started.
Dallas also was able to win multiple division championships with both players.
Romo, like Prescott now, was only able to win two playoff games.
These are two really solid regular season quarterbacks but at the end of the day, they weren’t and haven’t been able to rise above in the playoffs.
They weren’t and haven’t been able to reach that elite playoff quarterback level.
Time will tell to see if Prescott can break through that Super Bowl wall at some point if he stays with the Cowboys in the future.
Many people thought that he would do exactly that after he replaced Romo in 2016.
