The Atlanta Falcons organization recently made a big announcement.
On social media, the team released a video showing owner Arthur Blank finding out that he is going to be inducted into the franchise’s Ring of Honor.
Former players and coaches sent their congratulations to Blank in the video too.
“Oh my lord! That’s a total surprise,” Blank said in shock.

Blank made his purchase of the Atlanta Falcons way back in 2002.
Since then, the Falcons have put together 11 seasons with a record over .500.
They have made three NFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl appearance.
Of course, the team is still looking to capture that elusive Vince Lombardi that has escaped them.
Perhaps Blank’s hiring of former Falcons assistant Raheem Morris can take the team closer to that goal.
Not only was Morris hired this offseason, but the team was able to sign four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins, as well as other veteran wide receivers to help him out.
With a revamped offense and with Morris going in to help out a defense that was already a top-half-of-the-league unit last season, this has the makings of an awesome season it Atlanta.
The NFC South is also one of the weaker divisions in the league.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won it last year with a 9-8 record.
Regardless of what happens this year, Arthur Blank has guided the Falcons back to relevancy in his 20+ years as owner.
It was about time that he was inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.
