The Atlanta Falcons recently announced they are inducting one of their greatest players into their Ring of Honor.
Franchise legend Matt Ryan was brought into the building because he thought he would speak to the team.
In a video that the Falcons just released on social media, Ryan is seen addressing the players but is later surprised by head coach Raheem Morris, who tells him that he will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.
“This guy is the best Falcon of all time,” Morris said before the team, who later gave Ryan a standing ovation.

Ryan was drafted back in 2008 with the No. 3 overall pick and played 14 years with the team.
The four-time Pro-Bowler and 2016 NFL MVP is the franchise’s all-time leader in every major statistical passing category.
He also holds many NFL records, including the most completions for a player in his first 15 career seasons (5,551) and the most consecutive games with 200+ passing yards (64).
With Ryan under center, the Falcons had eight seasons with a .500-or-better record, won the NFC South three times, and made the playoffs six times.
He is the team’s greatest quarterback in history and usually proved it whenever he took the field.
Despite never winning a Super Bowl, Ryan demonstrated that he was a Hall of Fame player year after year.
In NFL history, he ranks in the top 10 all-time in passing yards, completions, and touchdown passes.
