Before falling to the New York Jets in Week 6 on the road, the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles were one of only two undefeated teams in the NFL, with many believing this team might have what it takes to go the distance again this year.
Unfortunately, even though the Eagles had a perfect record before Sunday’s game against the Jets, Philadelphia struggled to close teams out, even teams that should be nowhere near talented enough to compete with them on any given week.
This has led to some tension between star quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown, who may feel he’s not getting the football enough.
The offense hasn’t been flowing as well as it should be, with Hurts coming off a three-interception performance, which is arguably the worst of his career.
Eagles legend Donovan McNabb chimed in on the team’s offensive problems, which prompted this response from Brown, who clearly wasn’t happy about him getting involved.
With all due respect I will repeat, that conversation was not about targets. Two friends bumped heads about something and moved on and If you feel that way, keep that to yourself because the media is going to hold on to everything you say.Out all of people you should know better. https://t.co/4EPyGWXyix

During his time with the Eagles, McNabb regularly bumped heads with superstar wide receiver Terrell Owens, which turned into a pretty toxic relationship that didn’t end well.
It’s not surprising that Brown would fire back at McNabb for his comments, especially considering the circumstances in Philadelphia.
The real question now is whether the Eagles can get back on track offensively this season and live up to expectations moving forward because Philadelphia could do something special if they can put it all together again this season.
Even though the Eagles will have some stiff competition in the conference with the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions, Philadelphia has been there and done that, but it remains to be seen whether they can do it again.
