Coming into the 2023 NFL season, expectations were high for the Detroit Lions who really came on toward the end of the 2022 campaign.
Fast forward to now and the Lions have somehow managed to exceed expectations as they sit atop the NFC North with a 5-1 record and are tied with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers for the best record in the NFC.
Detroit has played all-around good football through six weeks as the young talent on both sides of the ball have taken leaps.
Dan Campbell has his roster operating at a high level and the team shows no signs of slowing down as the regular season progresses.
In their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, Detroit exerted their will on the field and played their normal brand of tough, physical football.
The Lions are winning the hearts of the NFL world, including Rich Eisen who can’t help but watch them whenever they play via the Rich Eisen Show.

Eisen praises Detroit and Campbell for the work they’ve done to get to this point and acknowledges how exciting their style of play is.
Detroit wasn’t in the conversation for Super Bowl contention prior to the season, but it’s starting to feel like they’ve positioned themselves in that inner circle.
While Campbell deserves a ton of credit for the job he’s done, the players have been able to make it all work.
It’s an exciting time to be a Lions fan given how good the team looks and it’ll be interesting to see if they can keep things rolling in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens.
